about us

Tech-Wise grew from that simple idea: technology should make life easier. The company was founded by Anil Narine after a 15-year career teaching Media and Communications.

A University of Victoria Alumnus, Anil’s work took him to Toronto with shorter periods living in New York and London. He moved back to Victoria with his young family in 2024 to ensure his mom and dad could enjoy the full “grandparent experience.” Before long, he became their go-to person whenever their technology got frustrating. After helping his own parents with their digital devices Anil realized that other seniors in the community could benefit from the same kind of patient, one-on-one support.

With mentorship from industry leaders at WorkBC’s Small Business Incubator, his wife Shauna’s background as a graphic designer and his brother Sacha’s web design skills, Anil officially launched Tech-Wise in July 2025. It’s truly a family affair! Today, Tech-Wise’s small team helps seniors in the Victoria community feel more comfortable, capable, and confident with technology.

In addition to his work with Tech-Wise, Anil teaches technology workshops at Cook Street Village Activity Centre and at rec centres across the Greater Victoria Area.
